From the desk of the Depraved Fugitive (pronounced Fug-a-tiv)

Aka Major Drake
(or banana )

We have two new combat officer types in a junior role, Hoca-Cola and Deathblave (DSB) for our purposes, eventually these two gentlemen (or fools who knows) will end up having their own specialties, Deathblave seems to be more into Cromwells and lighter tanks.  (read running around the map like pirates screaming ARG while taking annoying "skirmish" shots at persuers)

I wanted to post this as news because we will be recruiting more heavily and aggressively in the coming weeks. With that change will come a number of things, new personalities new problems certainly.

But it also means we will start to develop more than one stronghold team per night, and eventually Hoca-Cola, along with eventually Rommels Tigers and Lil_trip_Dipstick and Death will all get more than their share of command chair time.

This is by design, as Drake will need to be left to his own devices to recruit often times during our prime time stronghold nights. And while Drake has his spies everywhere ready to report on Plastic's every false move, it is in our clans best interests if you all learn to deal with more than just one brand of caller (or crazy).

I recently got a great response from Hunsin123 from his experiences with you guys in strongholds, he was our clan leader for a while back when Pheonix (the red symbol clan) was doing Tier TEN CLANWARS. So his assessment has a lot of weight behind it, I used to call for them when Hunsin was too fucked to to so anymore.

His only real comment for work was that too many people treat the strongholds as random battles and think about their own tank first rather than staying in any formation (which we don't use a lot)

but it comes down more to the aim of stopping in fast tanks to shoot every time instead of rushing as a team and generally mixing it up as a unit instead.

We tend to operate as a cohesive unit only when I chant like a witchdoctor to advance on hill in heavy tanks and pre-aim the team with phrases like "I don't care if you get shot move in and KILL KILL KILL"

So later when I get my cool new job with lots more money than I know what to do with, i will be periodically supplying people with gold rewards until such time as the clan has its own lands to supply them.

Another venue we need to explore is everyone getting the same premium tanks to count in with, and Havmore also mentioned the entirely correct: Platoons dont get top tier with three players. Its simply a lot less likely by the numbers.

And let us not forget, there IS NO FUCKING POINT TO PLATOONING IF YOU DONT SUPPORT YOUR BUDDY, TAKE TURNS IF YOU HAVE TO, AND AIM TO FARM THREE KILLS A PIECE SO YOU COMPLETE MORE TANKREWARDS.COM POINTS PER MONTH. (platoons of 2 are also easier to get Brothers in Arms medals with)

As lovely as our clans drive is, when we pick disjointed (*read different tanks than each other*) it puts us all in the role of individuals which is not really what military or teamwork is about. That is why often in the old matchmaker you would get shitty matches as platoons, wargaming assumed you would collude with each other like only organized crime lords can, and thus gain advantage.

While I don't yell at people for it, there is a reason i'm mentioning this now, you need to THINK ABOUT TEAMWORK. WHICH MEANS DRIVING NEXT TO YOUR BUDDY AND SUPPORTING WHATEVER TARGET IS BEING WORKED. And sometimes that means telling your friend to get the cucumber out arty is targeting us.

Wolfpacking a pair of medium tanks would be ideal practice and please remember Tier 6 is a lot easier to get good matches on than 8.

I will be working on the Russian MT-25 light tank due to it's insane 30 round per minute gun and being soo small. Ideal for competitive scouting and run-gun playing.

I encourage those of you who feel the cromwell is a pain in the ass, to try the MT-25 instead, its small, its annoying and it has plenty of camo value and even a little armor.
